Showcasing EINSTEIN to the VOICT members and a meeting with IT industry stakeholders

On Friday, February 28, 2025, a conventional meeting for networking and assembly of Vojvodina ICT Cluster (VOICT) members was held by SMART a Noventiq Company in Novi Sad, Serbia with an attendance of 26 participants.

The EINSTEIN project was presented at this meeting to representatives of the IT industry, C-Levels, decision-makers, startup founders, SMEs & MEs, software engineers, representatives of the human resources community, and development sector managers. Communication and Dissemination Manager, Jasna Komatović presented the EU-funded EINSTEIN project under the Framework Program “Horizon Europe” (2021 – 2027) and explained that this is an excellence initiative for nutrifood-based theranostics for a healthy European society.

In addition to the main goals of EINSTEIN, the participants had the opportunity to get to know better the project aims to catalyse transformation across widening countries like Serbia, focusing on institutional reforms and promoting sustainable food systems, as outlined in the European Green Deal. By integrating medicine, agriculture, technology, and education, the project aspires to pioneer nutrifood-based theranostics.

The presentation was followed by a brief Q&A session in which attendees acknowledged that it would be beneficial to hold a new session, inviting one of the researchers from the University of Novi Sad to engage with representatives from the IT industry. This would provide an opportunity to delve deeper into how EINSTEIN uses trans- and multi-disciplinary approaches to increase knowledge and technologies in the organic production of crops with improved nutritional and bioactive properties for human consumption.

Attendees at the presentation expressed interest in obtaining additional information about how these crops will serve as raw materials for designing nutrifood-based sensors with a dual function: therapeutic and diagnostic.

Brief overview of the event and meeting

Milan Šolaja, CEO of VOICT, opened the event, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of such gatherings. SMART director Ivana Ružičić addressed the attendees and emphasized how much it means to the company that it had the opportunity to host colleagues from the industry.

The first lecturer, Milovan Matijević, provided a key overview of the main points in the IT industry during the past year and reflected on the trends that await in the future. CTO SMART, Ljiljana Milikić presented the innovative product, Missing Link.

“In addition to the inspiring presentations, we used the opportunity to connect with colleagues from other companies, to exchange knowledge and ideas, and we believe that such meetings are for the common progress and improvement of the IT industry,” said SMART.
