The 3rd EINSTEIN Project Management Meeting

On June 6, 2025, Wageningen University and Research (WUR) hosted the third EINSTEIN consortium meeting. Members of the consortium assessed progress, status, and planned activities for the upcoming period of the second year of the project.

Following the welcome and introductory remarks by host Renger Witkamp, Professor of Nutritional Biology, attendees were addressed by Prof. Dr. Goran Stojanović, the project’s coordinator from the University of Novi Sad, who provided a broad overview of the EINSTEIN project status.

Subsequently, a thorough Work Packages session was conducted, during which presentations of results and outcomes were made. The agenda encompassed discussions that guaranteed compatibility with the project’s objectives, milestones, and timelines, thereby enabling partners to exchange ideas and insights to fortify their future collaboration.

This meeting was a pivotal moment for collaboration, strategy refinement, and driving impact.

Bridging Ideas for a Sustainable Future

Important developments were underway as we gathered for our project meeting in the vibrant city of Wageningen. From exchanging cutting-edge ideas to strengthening collaborative efforts, this meeting was poised to lay the groundwork for transformative milestones that push the boundaries of excellence in nutrifood-based theranostics.

Wageningen University and Research specialises in life sciences, with a focus on agriculture, food, and nutrition, as well as technology and engineering. Known as a hub for innovative research and collaboration, WUR sets the perfect stage for discussions and groundbreaking developments.

The participants of the meeting had the opportunity to participate in the Lab Tour at the Division of Human Nutrition of Health and to dive deeper into the latest achievements to improve human health through better nutrition, aimed at using a trans- and multi-disciplinary approach to increase knowledge and technologies.

The participants showed a keen interest in the bicycle tour organised by colleagues from WUR, which connected the meeting location to the University and the laboratory, as a way to promote and enhance a healthy lifestyle. The journey of over 6 kilometres there and back allowed for socialising during a group ride.

A visit to colleagues in the Netherlands, renowned for its cycling culture, prompted us to reflect on the enhancement of physical health, the mental advantages of cycling, the environmental contributions it offers, the economic benefits, and importantly, the social dimensions that foster awareness of the local community and the environment. Cycling is a simple, fun and effective way to stay active and healthy!

This gathering was more than just a meeting – it was a convergence of minds from academia, research institutions, industries, clusters, NGOs and project management fields. It was about sparking inspiration, cultivating partnerships, and steering our project toward impactful outcomes.
